Happy 24th birthday to you, Koopa!
A meal a day
Yeah, no sketch today. I woke up rather late and started doing house chores and cook. Was experimenting on a marinate for beef. I’ve chopped a few celery stalks and added brown sugar, onion salt, lemon & pepper, balsamic vinegar, and a can of Guiness Stout as the mixture. That marinate was bout 20 hours ago before I took it out.
After the meat is brought to room temperature, I’ve seasoned it with some salt and grounded black pepper, and off it went to be seared. After sealing off the surface of the tenderloin, I popped it unto a tray of sliced aromatic root vegetables(red onion, celery, carrot) and whacked it into the oven for 20 minutes at about 200 degrees. It should be medium rare.
After the meat is cooked, I emptied the tray and started making the sauce from the remnants of the tray. I’ve added red wine and chicken broth, reduced it by half, and then added whipping cream. Whisk it to emulsify the sauce. …and there you have it.
Well, at least it’s something….right?
Visual Kei
I was exposed to a ton of “Visual Kei” bands from Japan. Apparently the term “Visual Kei” or “VK” was first introduced by the J-Rock industries. What it does is that it pitches grown men into wearing heavy makeup, weird dresses, and tons of hairspray+hair gel+hair coloring. The band members pretty much looks like women.
Apparently that’s the whole idea behind this. Attracting the younger audience to the genre. So this sketch is due to the bombardment of the VK industry.
